The University of Guam’s Career Development Office offers students and alumni assistance in job search strategies and career placement. We provide direct services for undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, and employers. The office is committed to help foster assertiveness and personal responsibility in the career decision-making and job search process.
Our goals are:
· To help students develop, refine, and/or implement appropriate career objectives.
· To assist students in acquiring information, knowledge, and competencies that enhances individual career development academic success and employability.
· To provide services and resources that support students’ and graduates’ candidacy with graduate/professional school and employers.
· To develop relationships with employers to provide part-time, summer, temporary developmental and professional employment opportunities for students and graduates.
· To support overall development of students and goals of the student affairs division.
The Career Development Office offers direct instruction through workshops to introduce students to business etiquette, job search strategies, resume and cover letter workshops, mock interviews, and holistic career development. Workshop schedules are updated and posted at the CDO office as well as our new career based web tool at https://uog-csm.symplicity.com/
Be sure to add this website to your favorites and utilize it often as we will begin to post some very valuable information, such as job postings and schedules of employer on-campus recruitments.
Students and alumni may also schedule an appointment with the office to review, critique, or tailor an existing résumé.
Our services cover the realm of career counseling, on-campus recruitment, job search skills, résumé writing, interview skills, dress for success, and our Student Employee of the Year Award program.
