MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Graduate from high school or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the minimum knowledge, abilities and skills.
Preferred: Associate's Degree in an area related to disabilities.
NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATION:
Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
CHARACTER OF DUTIES:
Knowledge of experience in assisting training activities for diverse audiences, including individuals with disabilities. Knowledge of providing direct service to individuals with disabilities, and knowledge in community outreach and data collection. Knowledge in the use of a personal computer, photocopies, fax machine, training equipment for use during multimedia presentations, and other specialized equipment including a TTY machine and computers that produce large print documents.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works under supervision of the Senior Family Navigator. Conducts outreach in various Guam military installation sites, and encourages military families of children with developmental disabilities to participate in UOG/CEDDERS. Provides accurate program information that will aid families in obtaining appropriate services. Provides assistance to families who are visiting the One Stop Center. Develops and maintains positive rapport with military families to identify service needs when possible. Assists in developing families' Military Support Plans, and performs initial intake and assessment to collect family information. Ensures initial parenting stress index survey is completed by parents. Collects data from the Parent Index Survey and other assessment tools developed for the project designed to assess families, and work, collaborates and maintains effective and consistent communication with Senior Family Navigator, families, other agencies, and other staff in support of UOG/CEDDERS activities and projects. Works with families as the exit the program to collect family satisfaction and outcome data, and understands, respects, and maintains the confidentiality and privacy of families. Make appropriate referrals, as needed and prepares and maintains records and reports as required. Receives office visitors and telephone calls; answers questions or inquiries for routine information; and refers them to appropriate personnel, as needed. Attend meetings and training as required. Performs other related duties.
